About
For the most part, I am a self-taught photographer. That meant a lot of trial and error and that was back in the days of film, which unfortunately I wasted lots of. I had originally started photography as a hobby, but in 1986, I decided to devote my time and energy to photography on a full time basis. What I had discovered was that with photography I had found a medium that enabled me to express my creative abilities. One of my passions is teaching photography, the first workshop that I taught was in 1983. I have learned a lot since then and today I am regarded as one of Canada's leading creative photographers as well as one of the top selling stock photographers.
Valerie, my wife and I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - that is when we're not off on a trip somewhere. We always have a list of new places that we have to see. As we visit one and cross it off the list, there always seems to be many more new ones on the list. It never ends, the more we travel the more we realize that there's a lot more to see. My travels have taken me from coast to coast in Canada and the United States, as well as the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Africa. I teach various photography workshops, present seminars and photo classes in many of the locations where I have travelled to.

I was honoured to be chosen as one of Canada's Distinguished Professional Photographers by CAPA (Canadian Association for Photographic Art)
In 2012 I became one of the Sigma Pro Photographers in Canada.
