Ottawa Fall Workshop

Field Trip Dates and Locations

Here are the locations and scheduled times for the field trips. I've tried keep a balance between architectural/travel  and nature/landscape photography. The last 2 days of the field trips (Sunday 11th and Monday 12th) will be photographing the fall colours which should be at their peak.

Oct 3

10:00 am Meet in front of the NCC Info Centre (corner of Metcalfe and Wellington) across from the Parliament Buildings. Instruction and photography around Parliament Hill.

Interior tour Parliament Buildings - Group tour booked for 11:10 - Meet at the Visitor Welcome Centre (No tripods, or you can check your tripod with security and pick it up after the tour).

Lunch Downtown. Photography on Sparks Street, War Memorial, Rideau Canal, Byward Market, National Art Gallery. Other possible locations are The Museum of Civilization, Rideau Falls and the Old Ottawa City Hall.

Finish 4:00 - 5:00 pm

9:30 am Meet at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre, 33 Scott Road, Chelsea - MAP The entire day will be spent in Gatineau Park, first stop will be the Mackenzie King Estate (web link to NCC Page ). Other photo locations for the day are; Old Chelsea Ravine, Dunlop Waterfalls, Lake Fortune, O'Brien Beach to the waterfalls and ruins at Carbide Wilson's mill, Champlain Lookout.

Full Day at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg (1860's Village) 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

 

People, Buildings, Animals, Nature (Admission Fee not included in workshop)

Meet at 9:30 at admission's building - MAP

Lunch at noon at Willard's Hotel

Oct 11

9:30 am Meet at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre, 33 Scott Road, Chelsea - MAP. We'll car pool again, like we did last weekend. Bring a bagged luch with you. 

Finish early today around 3:00 pm, because most people celebrate Thanksgiving today.

Mon Oct 12

1:30 pm Meet at the National Art Gallery at the "Spider" We'll photography around the Market area, and then depending on the time we might head for the downtown area. Twilight shoot at the Museum of Civilization. Sunset is around 6:22pm.

Finish around 7:00 pm
