These two photos deal with balance. What this means is, rather than one subject being the only dominant feature in the picture there is also a secondary subject that captures your attention. Which can be equally as dominant or have less visual importance than the main subject. For example in this photo to the left, the primary subject is the top part of the church, but equally as visually strong is the shadow of the other church. So there is almost a visual ping pong game between the two. | |

In this photo the church the dome is definitely dominant. But the corner of the building coming in on the right side of the picture (which is a triangular shape) provides a little visual relief -our attention goes to it for a split second, but then back to the dome. What this building does, is it gives some implied depth to the photo and more importantly it relieves the static quality of only having one visual element as your subject. | |
