This church is in Firostefani, not far from the hotel that we stay in on the Greece workshop. It’s late in the afternoon but not quite yet sunset, maybe just over an hour before the sun sets. There was little colour in the scene; the bright backlighting on the water was washing it all out. Had I taken this photo without the Cokin Graduated Colour Filter I know that this would have been a disappointing image. The water would have been the brightest and largest tone in the photo and would have visually overpowered the church. It is the colour that I added with the filter that makes the difference; always remember how tones will affect your picture. |
