Here is my current equipment list:

Canon 5D MKIII
Canon 5D MKII
Canon 1Ds MKII
CANON EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM (This is the first version of this lens - it is terribly soft....wish I hadn't bought it)
CANON EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
CANON EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM (Sold this because I liked the Sigma 70-200MM F2.8 better)
CANON EF 28-300 f/3.5-5.6L IS USM (Great walk around lens because of the range - but it really distorts and Chromatic Aberration is horrible)
SIGMA 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG APO OS HSM
SIGMA 85MM F1.4 EX DG HSM (Amazingly Sharp Lens....probably the sharpest of any lens I have ever owned)
SIGMA 24-70MM F2.8 IF EX DG HSM
SIGMA APO 70-200MM F2.8 EX DG HSM (If I could only use one lens.....this would be it!)
Kenko Auto Extension Tube Set (12, 20 & 36mm Tubes)

Hi Kate,

I use all of my lenses all of the time. If I ever have a lens that I don't like or that I am not using then I will sell it....and someone will buy it and will probably love it. It is really a personal choice what and why you like a particular lens.

In choosing a lens, the primary determining factor it is obviously the focal length, then the F-Stop, quality and build, minimum focusing distance, warranty.

To answer your question, I guess the one lens that I could not live without would be my Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX.

Roman,

You should definitely take a look at the Sigma lenses. I did own the Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS (which was the 1st version - Canon did update the model about 2 years ago to the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II). What I can tell you is that after using the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens (which came out around May 2010), I like it so much that I sold my Canon lens. Here in Canada these Sigma lenses have a 10 year warranty.

And as you know my pictures are be published daily, so I take image quality very seriously - the Sigma lenses that I use deliver that quality.

Hi! I see that you're using a lot of Sigma lenses. I wonder if they are in comparing with Canon's. I'm sure that Canon's better, but they costs so much! I heard very good things about Tamron 70-200/2.8, but I didn't touch Sigmas. Does it worth its price?

The photos are very nice! Scotland is very beautiful indeed!
