I am sure that there are many photographers who would recommend one lens over the other for various reasons and I am sure that each reason would be valid. The question that you have to ask yourself is - what are you going to use the lens for? Would having the zoom be an added bonus or would having the extra 2 stops of light and better bokeh benefit you? There is no one correct answer that would apply for every photographer.
