I had once thought that there weren’t enough hours in a day,  that has changed, now I think that there aren’t enough days in a year. I can’t believe that it has been over a month since my last entry on the blog, where has the time gone?

In the past month I have conducted a spring workshop in Ottawa, a weekend photo workshop in Brockville, was at the ProFusion Show in Toronto giving a presentation in which I showed and discussed many of the images that I have made in recent months with my SIGMA lenses and then finally there was a model photo shoot workshop.  Apart from these workshops we have also been planning for the Las Vegas/Death Valley workshop in March 2013 and the Africa tour for September 2013. Apart from these workshops, I have also been working on images to submit to Masterfile my stock sales agent. Oh yes, I also tore down the old garden shed and built a new one.

In the upcoming month I have several photo workshops in Ottawa, including a one day shoot in the downtown area.

So that’s a quick recap of my month, how’s your summer so far???

“Just before you release the shutter what do you see through the viewfinder on your camera (or the LCD screen)?  Are you capturing the feeling, mood, interaction, experience that has occurred between yourself and the subject/scene? Creative photography is about using your vision, the elements of visual design and all of the photographic tools at your disposal to create the image that you see in your mind.

Everyone’s vision is different but there many techniques and visual principals that are common in creating images that help you capture “Exactly How I Had Pictured It!”  In this workshop we will cover the essentials that will help you to create the image that you see. We will discuss composition, visual design, light, angle, lens, perspective and subject matter. As well as Photoshop techniques that will help to make your photograph!”

Winter Wallup

Winter Wallup

Canon 5D MKII - Sigma 24-70 F2.8 IF @58mm F9.0 1/100

On the news they were calling yesterday’s snow storm “Winter Wallup”. I might have called it Winter Wonderland! This is a Lilac bush in my backyard. The shutter speed was 1/100 sec which was slow enough to capture the streaks of the falling snow.
